The thirteenth Ganesh Mahotsav was celebrated with fervor at Ganesh Mandir, G.T. Road which houses 130 ft, Asia’s tallest Idol by Sidh Data Sewa Society (Regd.) . Hundreds of devotees thronged the temple for the visarjan of Lord Ganpati. The Visarjan ceremony was performed after accomplishing the Pooja and Hawan. The procession proceeded with the showers of flowers and bellows of trumpets and beguiles. Devotees enchanted ‘Ganpati Bappa Moreya Aglay Baras Tu Jaldi Aa’, with great zeal & enthusiasm while accompanying the procession.
A night before the prayer was codified with complete propriety of conduct among the chantings of mantras by the veteran priest under the supervision of Sanatan Dharam Guru Pandit Ajay Vashist Ji , Pt. Prahlad , Pt. Davinder Shastri, Pt. Vinod Sharma and Pt. Nardeshwar Pandey .
The Pujan was conducted by the President of Sidh Data Sewa Society ( Regd.)Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, Smt. Usha Rudhra, Dr. Shabad Rudhra, Dr. Vijayata Rudhra, Dr. Shivangi, Dr.Anamika , Dr. Jyoti Sachdeva Pujara & Sh. Sumesh Pujara, Smt. Shanti Devi Sachdeva& Sh. Om Parkash Sachdeva, Smt. Deeksha Kapoor & Sh. Nitin Kapoor, Smt. Neelam Kapoor, Smt. Seema Sehdev & Sh. Jatinder Sehdev, Mr. Puneet Sehdev, Sh. Deputy Kapoor, Smt. Suman Kapoor, Smt. Reeta Kapoor.
During the evening prayers, the renowned singer, Sh. Surinder Jogiya and party , Sh.Sonu Kumar, Sh. Sandeep Sawar and Sh.Jasbir Jassi marked the occasion with their melodious singing of hymns. MLA Shri Madanlal Bagga was present on the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Singing praises of the God of wisdom and prosperity Lord Ganesha, the President of Sidh Data Sewa Society ( Regd.) Dr. Rajesh Rudhra told the devotees that it is not difficult to get close to God but for that one has to have a burning desire. Praising the devotion of Pandit Ajay Vashist Ji , Dr. Rajesh Rudhra said that he is a Brahmin with complete knowledge of dharma. Describing about MLA Shri Madanlal Bagga ji, he said that he has contributed to the progress of Ludhiana city by building a bridge near Green Land School and cleaning Budda River.
Today, after Hawan and Mahaarti , the Idol of Lord Ganesha along with Ridhi & Sidhiwere immersed in the holy water of Sutlej Darya by all the devotees and members of the Sidh Data Sewa Society ( Regd.) with great devotion. Taking halts at several places on the way to Sutlej Darya, bhog of laddoos was offered to the beloved Lord and parsad was distributed among the devotees. Langar was also arranged for the devotees.
