The Ludhiana Management Association (LMA) organized its 45th Anniversary and award function on 19th December 2023, Tuesday, at Hotel Radisson Blu, Ludhiana. Governor of Punjab, Banwarilal Purohit, was the chief guest on this occasion, and six awards in different categories were given away to prominent personalities at this event.
Renowned industrialist and president of CICU, Upkar Singh Ahuja, was bestowed the Lifetime Achievement Award at this function, while another noted personality, DK Sindhwani, Director of Corporate Services at Vardhman Textiles Limited, received the Manager of the Year award.
Shobhan Soi, General Secretary of LMA, in his welcome address, thanked Governor Purohit for sparing his valuable time to confer the Annual Awards instituted by LMA. He also stated that the event aimed to felicitate the industrialists and entrepreneurs of Ludhiana.
LMA, established in 1978, is a multi-directional organization that focuses on education, training, and various other aspects. The awards presented by LMA reflect gratitude, recognize excellence, and motivate the youth.
During the program, the LMA – Vardhman Award for Entrepreneur of the Year 2022 was received by Satyan Bhatia, Managing Director of International Marketing Corporation Private Limited, Ludhiana. The LMA – Dayanand Munjal Award for Manager of the Year 2022 was awarded to D.K Sindhwani, Director of Corporate Services at Vardhman Textiles Limited, Ludhiana. The LMA – Trident Award for Young Innovative Entrepreneur of the Year 2022 was presented to Paras Budhiraja, Managing Director of Paras Spices Private Limited, Moga. The LMA – Hari Chand Award for Corporate Citizen of the Year 2022 was received by Rahul Verma, Managing Director of Riddhi Processors Private Limited, Ludhiana. The LMA – Sohan Lal Pahwa Award for Emerging SME of the Year 2022 was presented to Sidharth Sareen of Hi-Tech International, Ludhiana, while the LMA – Sat Paul Mittal Lifetime Achievement Award of the Year 2022 was given to Upkar Singh Ahuja, Managing Director of New Swan Multitech Limited, Ludhiana.
Governor Purohit, in his speech, commended the work of the Ludhiana Management Association and its accomplishments over the past decades. He appreciated how the LMA, as a body, had continuously made efforts to establish a better environment for growth for management academics, entrepreneurs, and its individual members. He also congratulated the award winners, stating that their work was an inspiration for generations to come, and urged LMA members to contribute to and strengthen the business community and research efforts for better development.
Approximately 300 leading industrialists, entrepreneurs, academicians, businessmen, and women attended the function. Important dignitaries from public administration offices also joined the event. The membership landscape over the period stands out vividly, as LMA has become one of the most outstanding management associations in Northern India, with more than 550 leading industrialists, entrepreneurs, top management executives, management academicians, bankers, and professionals. The event concluded with presidential remarks by Neeraj Jain, President of LMA, a vote of thanks by Harpreet K. Kang, Senior Vice President of LMA, and a memento presented to the Governor by Gaurav Munjal, Vice President of LMA.
