A delegation of businessmen led by Narinder Bhamra , President of Fastener Manufacturers Association of India (FMAI), Ashok Gupta, State President of Laghu Udyog Bahrti , Ashok Sethi , State Vice President of Laghu Udyog Bharti & Jasbir Singh, President of Northern India Screw Manufacturers & Traders Association Amritsar, met Som Parkash Minister of State for Commerce & Industry of India.
The delegation thanked the minister for his whole hearted support & directions to concerned department regarding imposition of Minimum Import Price (MIP) of Rs. 129 on fastener items. According to Bhamra, “It is due the efforts of Commerce & Industry Ministry that MIP on fasteners items is imposed & which will help entire fastener Industry in India to overcome unfair competition from China. From 3rd Jan 2024 onwards lot of containers meant for India are on hold & it will help Indian Industry to grow & to get better share in the market.”
Bhamra also said, “Our delegation also requested the minister to reduce duty on machinery for fasteners and allied products to zero percent so that we can import machines to produce quality products as per demand of market. Minister Som Parkash also assured us that he will soon visit Ludhiana to sort out other issues of Industry & Trade”
