In a very unfortunate and astonishing incident of road rage, two individuals lost their lives after falling into the Beas river from the national highway near Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. The tragic accident occurred on the evening of January 1st when Amandeep Singh, a resident of Nakodar driving a Fortuner car and Ganga Ram, a Karsog resident and driver of a tempo traveler, engaged in a scuffle on the issue of overtaking on the busy Manali-Chandigarh national highway near Brindabani in Mandi.
According to eyewitnesses, during the scuffle, both individuals slipped from the cliff and fell into the Beas river. Onlookers could only hear their cries for help but were helpless due to the steep altitude and inability to locate them. Despite the efforts of local police, NDRF, SDRF, and other rescue teams searching for three days, their efforts were in vain. In a tragic update on Wednesday, rescuers recovered the body of Amandeep Singh from the Beas river. Meanwhile Ganga Ram still remains untraceable and hopes of him being alive are very bleak now.
The shocking incident has left everyone in shock, specially the locals who have never witnessed such incident ever. Expressing concern over the rising incidents of road rage senior journalist Shashi Bhushan Purohit from the region commented, "This unprecedented tragedy at Brindabani should serve as a lesson for everyone, particularly the youth, many of whom exhibit aggressive behavior on the roads. We must all question whether engaging in fights over trivial matters is truly worth it or not."
