High voltage drama was witnessed outside the residence of Ludhiana MP Ravneet SIngh Bittu near Rose Garden in the city as on Tuesday afternoon alll of a sudden, dozens of police personnel arrived outside the residence of Bittu and rope was tied at the gate of his home after restricting entry and exit.
"Under the governance of AAP Government, Punjab is currently facing a situation akin to an emergency, Today, the Ludhiana police completely surrounded my residence, sealed the entire residential area, and imposed restrictions on my movement" claimed MP Ravneet Singh Bittu.
Bittu also said, "State government is misusing the police machinery to target political opponents, this is undemocratic and goes against the rights of Indian citizens. As a Member of Parliament, I have the full right to participate in Smart City projects, attend direction meetings, and they cannot prevent me from doing so using police force. Why was my home put under surveillance, and why were my family members not allowed to leave. Do the agencies enforcing Punjab's laws consider me an anti-national, or am I involved in illegal activities. Ludhiana police must answer this. I am a three-time Member of Parliament with a clear and transparent record, serving the voters of my constituency for fifteen years. The illegal action against me is highly condemnable"
Bittu further stated that he was planning to inspect some projects with District Congress President Sanjay Talwar, which were initiated by previous Congress goverment and then completed in the previous regime only. "What is wrong with inspecting those projects, If we are just going there for observation, why are Ludhiana's current political rulers afraid"
District Congress Chied and EX MLA Sanjay Talwar said that he and Bittu were supposed to visit the newly constructed Shaheed Udham Singh Community Center on Chandigarh Road, but they were prevented from leaving home.
